"1968 Triumph Trophy front hub nut"

Hi,

My first post so I might be in the wrong place. I have a 1968 Triumph Trophy. Can someone please tell me what is the correct size wrench to use on the front wheel hub spindle nut. This is the nut that holds the brake assembly to the spindle. I was told it was 1-1/8" so I picked up a 1-1/8" deep socket and it does not fit. Too small. So before I start buying and experimenting with deep sockets I was hoping someone would clarify. I was going to try 1-3/16" but my caliper measures 1.20" which is slightly larger than 1-3/16 and less than 1-1/4".

Thanks,

AL
