"Bonnneville Electrics Upgrade"

Need info/advice to upgrade 1979 Triumph Bonneville T140E Kickstart
with Lucas AB-11 Battery-excited electronic ignition module.
I want to get rid of the Ziener diode, the rectifier, the AB-11,and
if possible, the battery. Is a Tympanium/Boyer-Bransden system a good
possibility? Where to find Wiring Diagrams/Instructions?
Thnx in advance.

Everyone I talk to about it says YES. Boyert and Tymp combos are the way to go. I've just been too cheap to do my own 67 T120. My supplier here in Ohio(former Triumph dealer) says he isn't too crazy about battery eliminator kits if you plan to use the lights. You could put in up to 140 watt, stator but you're best off with at least 6amps worth of battery. Good luck! Pat

Thanks for the feedback. Online research has pretty much confirmed that.
However, I have found a less expensive alternative to the Tympanium.
Map Cycle of St.Petersburg,Fl. Makes a similar unit (pn. MAP4102)
That sells for $64.95.
Anyone have any experience with MapCycle and their parts?
