"750 Atlas Alternator Rotor Nut size"

The threaded end of the crankshaft on the Alternator side of my Atlas was damaged by the previous owner. He threaded on the incorrect nut and seriously damaged the threads. I need to run a thread restorer or die on the crank end and do not know the correct size. I cannot tell if it is BSC or UNF? The spanner size is 7/16. Any help is greatly appreciated as I cannot finish my rebuild until this is repaired.

Thanks again.

Must be my deodorant. No replies. Quit waiting a a reply and took my crank to a professional machine shop and had them cut new threads on the shaft.

It sometimes takes a few days to get an answer. Most people on the forum are garage mechanics sharing knowledge and only check in when they are in their shop.
There is a link to DynoDav's "Atlantic Green" at the top of the page. He posts here a lot and will answer your questions.

5/8x20 coarse series cycle... just like the transmission shaft.
It is kind of tough for me these days since my new building is such a mess, and all my technical resources are still unorganized.
I hope to be in limited operation by thanksgiving.

cheers
new addy and DSL oh boy ...no more dial up.
