"trying to identify what Norton motor i have."
Fri Jul-09-10 08:25 AM by indiandano

Just picked up a 1971 norton commando??? but no numbers match and i can't figure out what it really is.
It had a fire under the leaking amal carbs and the distrubter is under the carbs. I do believe this is where the fire started. Not sure if it is a commando so not sure what parts to look for. Restorable with TLC.
Frame tag missing,
Motor# G15CS123642, Think it's an Atlas/Matchless
Trans# NA18771G
Anybody got a clue?
Thanks in advanced.

try google norton atlas and norton commando to see pix and detect which frame you have.
your engine and gearbox # sound more like thsy would fit an atlas.

or you could have an extreme bitsa bike,

Wouldn't this be either a '67 Matchless G15 or Norton N15 (Same Engine)? It's not a Commando. The number is too early.
