"Fork Problem Diagnosis"

Can anyone figure out what this symptom means? With my front wheel off if I grab my fork sliders while they are at full extension I can feel movement when I rock them hard back and forth one at a time. The movement seems to be at the bottom end of the slider only. Is this a take them a part and have a look problem? Any ideas. Thanks. Marc

You should dismanatle, inspect and measure all the fork components including the bores of the lower legs. These are often over looked.
Just replacing the bushings and seals is no assurance you have done a thorough job, even if you put new staunchions also. The symptom you describe is classic worn out syndrome. Now to figure out what it is......
