"What have I got - does it bite?"

Buddy tried to get to the top of a pole (with a Norton !)He's since moved elsewhere and "bequeathed" the bike to me. (We've since lost toutch) Now I'm the proud owner of a '73 Norton Commando Ser# 301882 (Mfg 04/73) No front wheel/fender, no front suspension nor headlight and a buckled/twisted frame. I've had it in my garage for the past 4 years and wish to restore it now.

HOW CAN I DISTINGUISH THE DIFFERENCE (versions of) 850 COMMANDO's

i.e. have I a "Roadster, Mk III, Combat, Interstate" etc. or what? The same # (301882) is stamped on left side engine block. Is there a clue?
I'll need to distinguish this when shopping parts, I guess. By the way, I won't be too upset if someone out there want's to sell them to me (those that would fit)

Can anyone help? My e-mail is lorenzfb@attcanada.ca
(of course I'll pay US $ and S&H) Thanks-a-bunch Fred

Fred

No, it won't bite.......maybe. All seriousness it appears to be a Mk I, 850 roadster. These bikes had all silver cylinders, single front disc., basket weave seat, pea shooter exhaust with balance tube.
Good Luck

Mike
