"AMAL MKII Carbs"

I just bought a 1980 Bonneville so I'm pretty new to these bikes. I've heard that 1980's with Amal MKII carbs ran rich to help with air pollution but that they offered some sort of off road kit to change it back. What are the suggested jets to fix or help with this? I currently have 106 needle jets and 200 mains. Are there any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Jesse

Rich running amal MKII's are not for emission reasons. This is the result of improper tuning or wear.

If the choke plungers are worn, it will cause a rich mixture.
