"Oil level on 67 Trophy"

Hello all

Very basic question - I have recently come in to the possession of a 1967 Triumph Trophy. How on earth do I check the oil level on this thing? It's leaking a bit (possibly a lot) so not sure how much it's got in there and reluctant to ride it at the moment unless I can sort this out.

Thanks

Dickdastardly

Look into the oil tank with a flashlight, it should appear 3/4 full with the bike on the side stand. If it stops leaking that means it's empty-haha. The trans and primary have seperate fill plugs. It is worth the money to buy a good service manual from any reliable publisher. I have both Clymer and Haynes and they seem to cover most things well enough. Good luck! Pat
