"Mark IIs - Air Cleaners?"

Have a 72 Interstate with PO-fitted Mark II Amals - run pretty good and I am happy - BUT - what does one use for air filters? Currently have unifilter socks on them, but they don't fit particularly well, esp. against the battery hold-down. Any and all advice much appreciated.

Old Grizz.

Hi Grizz,
Those Unifilters are available in alot of different sizes, some are just foam tubes others have rubber mounts like the K&N filters.
Try a different size, they are effective filters and they are not expensive.
Since I converted to a single Amal I have been using a Unifilter, I believe it was the 5 inch model, works fine.
I had previously been using a dual throat K&N made for Commandos, if your MKIIs are the same inlet size as the MKI 932 the K&N may be an option for you.
justa thought,
G.B.
