"67 Atlas lubrication questions"
|
Just bought a 67 Atlas in very good condition but it needs all the fluids changed and a general going over. I can't find the various weights of oil that it needs for the engine, primary case, and forks. Can someone please help the newbie out?
Also, would appreciate knowing what the best source for maintenance information would be... I have an old Haynes book that came with the bike, but it's a bit sketchy and I'm thirsting for real detail.
Thanks.

engine summer time 50W primary 20-50W forks 10-30, 10-40, 20-50 I should mention all service manuals assume you are a fully qualified mechanic and the shop manuals are only meant to fill in the details. They are not meant to be a beginner guide to motorcycle repair. Best liturature package is the Kim CD which has all norton service manuals and parts books. Best value for the money, Available from the INOA, which I'd also suggest you join. Also get the INOA tech digest.

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate your help and the note on mechanical skills. If I've learned anything over the years it's knowing when I'm over my head on mechanical work and when to pay the pros for what they knows...
