Hello out there, Does anyone know or heard about remagnetizing the rotor on a commando in order to "rejuvenate" the charging system output??? I would like to learn more about this topic. i understand that it is or has been done on automobiles.

My view on this subject..... You should question your source and get more specific data before you believe what they are claiming. The alternator rotor on a car is DC electromagnet not permanent magnet. I.E. gaussing is NOT possible.
The lucas rotor can be regaussed. I have a gausser that should be able to do it if a suitable regaussing "armature" was manufactured. I have a design, but have not bothered to build one, since there is not likely much $ in this line of work. A lot of the rotors are mechanically bad and need to be replaced anyway. Anyone that claims to be regaussing them by "dragging"(or similar) them across a super magnet is just scamming money out of them.
My gausser will primarily be used for magneto work.
